Travis Jerome Spivey was born in Asheville, NC to Dr. Luther and Mrs. Nancy Spivey on October 29, 1972. He was saved at the age of 7 at Chestnut Hill Baptist Church which is located in Fairview, NC. In 1992, Travis answered the call to preach. He was ordained by the Reverend Dr. Luther Spivey and the Reverend Dr. James Lockee.
He married Misty Pate in 1994. She is the daughter of J.D. and Elizabeth Pate. She was saved at the age of 6. She is a mountain girl who loves God and who has dedicated her life only to God. Her heart’s desire is to be a Godly wife and mother, to serve God, and love people. They have two children. Their son, Takoma, is 9 and their daughter, Kamry, is 5.
Travis Spivey attended West Lenoir Baptist School of Ministry in Lenoir, NC for 6 years. He graduated from college on February 25, 2000 with a Bachelor’s Degree of Divinity in Christian Education.
In 1996 he answered the call and became the pastor of New Hope Baptist Church in Spruce Pine, NC. He served there 8 years.
On October 17, 2005, he became the Pastor of Cove Creek Baptist Church in Pickens, SC.
His favorite verse is Nehemiah 1:11.
